Kitten Eye Makeup Trend Look

One of my favorite makeup trends this season has been the kitten eye. This trend is similar to the classic winged liner only the kitten eye is smaller, softer, and less harsh.

I'm someone who struggles with applying liquid or gel eyeliners so the way I achieve this kitten eye look is by using eyeshadows on an angled liner brush. I find this way to be a lot more beginner-friendly and it also has a softer, smokier, and sultrier finish.

For this look, I put my own spin on it and I created a smokey kitten eye makeup look. I really love how it turned out and I hope you do too!

HOW TO GET THIS EYE LOOK
Start by priming the eyes with either an eye primer, concealer, or foundation. (I used my foundation for this)

Then apply a matte bronzy shade across the crease and outer corner using a fluffy blending brush to give the eyes some depth. (I used the shade Punch Me from the Morphe x James Charles Palette for this)

To help give the kitten eye a clean edge use tape on the outer edges of the eyes starting at the outer corner of the eye and angling it in a way that flatters your eye shape. (I angled mine a little towards the tail of my brow)

Once the tape has been applied take a matte medium-toned brown and smudged that onto the upper lash line and flick it out to create the kitten eye effect using a pencil brush. (I used the shade Tea from the Morphe x James Charles Palette for this)

At the base of the lash line apply a matte deep-toned brown and smudge that onto the upper lash line using a pencil brush or angled brush keeping it below the previous medium-toned brown. (I used the shade Cyprus Umber from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette for this)

To continue the gradient effect add a matte black at the base of the lash line using an angled liner brush keeping it below the previous shade not blending the color out too much. (I used the shade Noir from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette for this)

For added drama apply your favorite mascara and a pair of wispy lashes. (I used the Kiss So Wispy Lashes for this)

On the lower lash line apply the shade you used in your crease and smudge it onto the lower lash line using a pencil brush then layer the matte medium-toned brown closer to the lash line and blend the two shades together.

Add lower lash mascara.

Finish off the eyes by adding a pop of highlight to the inner corner. (I used the highlighter shade in the Charlotte Tilbury FilmStar Bronze + Glow Palette for this)
