We're officially less than a week away from Christmas and in today's blog post I share with you what I filmed for Day 6 of my 12 Days of Vlogmas series.
Over the weekend I celebrated Christmas early with my family because as mentioned in this video and my Christmas shopping video, my sister and I won't be home for the holidays.
Apologies for the video being short, I didn't want to film while I was spending quality family time. I'm sure you guys understand. We just hung out, ate a delicious Christmas style dinner cooked by my lovely momma and we opened up Christmas presents.
I hope you enjoy the video, if you do and would like to see more please subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don't miss anymore of my videos! :)
Today's blog post is what I filmed for you guys for Day 5 of my 12 Days of Vlogmas series. I'll insert the video below if you'd like to watch.
I wanted to do something fun in the spirit of the holidays and came across some questions for a Christmas tag so I thought I'd share with you the questions and my answers...
Q: What's your favorite holiday movie?
A: The Holiday starring Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. I'm a sucker for romance. It's currently streaming on Hulu so if you guys have a Hulu account and are into romance movies I'd suggest you watch it :)
Q: What's your favorite Christmas color?
A: Red because it's bold, festive, vibrant and energetic.
Q: Do you like to stay in your PJs or dress up for Christmas?
A: PJs all the way, dressing up is for Christmas Eve.
Q: If you could only buy one person a present this year who would it be?
A: My husband that way I wouldn't have to choose between either of my parents or sisters.
Q: Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
A: Christmas morning, it wouldn't be right to open them the night before Christmas.
Q: Have you ever built a ginger bread house?
A: No, but I did buy one to build on our upcoming trip! :)
Q: What do you like to do on your Christmas break?
A: Hang out with family and friends...and eats lots of food.
Q: Any Christmas wishes?
A: To simply have a good time with good people and good food.
Q: Favorite Christmas smell?
A: Cinnamon
Q: Favorite Christmas meal or treat?
A: Anything sweet or chocolate, I have a major sweet tooth!!
Q: What are you doing for the holidays this year?
A: Skiing somewhere on a mountain in Colorado.
Q: What's your favorite holiday drink?
A: Most definitely a big warm cup of hot chocolate.
Q: Candy cane or gingerbread men?
A: Gingerbread men hands down! I'm not much of a candy person.
Q: What's your favorite holiday/Christmas song?
A: This is a tough one, there's so many good ones...I can't choose!
Q: What's the weirdest gift you've ever received?
A: I don't think I ever have...and if I did I can't remember.
Q: Have you ever made a snowman?
A: Yes, just recently! It was a small snowman...it never snows enough here in Houston but on Dec. 8th it snowed enough to make one.
Q: What's your favorite winter fragrance?
A: I don't have a winter fragrance, I wear the same couple of fragrances all year around.
Q: What is at the top of your list this Christmas?
A: Believe it or not, there isn't anything that I genuinely want for Christmas this year. When my sister asked me what I wanted for Christmas I said I needed a desk calendar lol.
Q: What is most important to you about the holidays?
A: Definitely spending it with loved ones!
Before I sign off on today's blog post, I want to give a big special shoutout to my husband, today is his 25th birthday!! Happy birthday to the most incredible and loving man, may it be filled with lots of love and happiness! ♥

Day 4 of my 12 Days of Vlogmas series is now live on my YouTube channel!!
In today's video I go Christmas shopping and I share with you guys everything that I brought for my family as I mentioned in the video my family and I are celebrating Christmas early this year because both my sister and I won't be in town on Christmas day.
I hope you enjoy the video, if you do and would like to see more please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
I'm taking on the challenge of uploading twelve days of videos over on my YouTube channel, starting today with day one and leading up to day twelve on Christmas Day! If you'd like to see my twelve days of vlogmas videos when they go live, please subscribe to my channel :)
I will be vlogging daily and sharing with you guys what goes on in my day to day life. During some of this time period I will be going on my very anticipated road trip to Colorado with family and friends so I'm beyond thrilled to get on the road and capture some footage for you guys to see.
I've never done this before but I will try my absolute best to upload daily. As mentioned we are going to be on vacation and I don't exactly know how fast or slow our internet connection will be out there, therefore if there is a lack of uploads perhaps that is the reason or maybe I'll just be having too much fun! :D
But on a serious note, if that is the case I will upload everything I have edited once I get to a place with reliable internet speeds. I am putting a lot of hard work and time into making these videos for you guys so I genuinely hope that you enjoy them as much as I'm enjoying filming and editing them.
Today being day one of vlogmas, I will have the video below for you guys to watch. In this video I share with you guys all the items I purchased on Cyber Monday. My package had finally arrived and I open everything up on camera and I encountered a couple of surprises from my order.
I linked all the products mentioned in this video on my Cyber Monday post, I'm hoping that a lot of the items that I bought are still available for purchase.
This wraps up today's blog post! I hope you guys enjoyed it and enjoyed my video, if you did please let me know your thoughts by leaving me a comment. If you liked my video please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my YouTube channel for more videos! Until next time friends, take care!
For the first time in my life I woke up to see actual snow outside! Friday, December 8, 2017 will be a date that goes down in the history books. I know it may sound like I'm making a big deal out of this or being dramatic but understand, weather events like this rarely occur in Houston.
My husband and I's immediate instinct was to put on the warmest clothing we could find and go enjoy the snow outside. We took a couple of photos, built a snowman and had a snowball fight. I hope we get to experience something like this again in Houston and that it wasn't a one time thing.
I am looking forward to all the snow we'll get to see and play in when we go on our ski trip!
Enough about the snow, let's get into why you're really here...the outfit! As I mentioned in my previous post, getting dressed up for the holidays is something I look forward to every year. I already covered the holiday makeup now it's time for the style portion.
This pink tulle skirt is the main focal point of this entire ensemble, I knew I wanted something feminine and delicate so this piece gave me exactly what I was looking for. I paired the skirt with a black three-quarter length top I purchased on sale for $5.00 at Walmart!
For shoes I went with classic pointed toe stiletto pumps from Lola Shoetique, I really like the faux snake skin detail throughout the heels it gives them an upscale and luxe look. If you're looking for a new pair of shoes for this holiday season or need to purchase a gift for a shoe lover, shop at Lola Shoetique and get 30% off your order by using code PREXMAS at checkout!
I wanted the rest of my accessories to be black as well as I didn't want anything to take away from the skirt so I went for this Chanel inspired quilted chained handbag from Express and a statement necklace to complete the outfit.
Hope you guys enjoyed today's style post. Until next time friends, take care!
It's the most wonderful time of the year, December is finally here!
This month is going to be filled with with lots of fun stuff!! Our Colorado trip is coming up as well as holiday parties, birthdays, Christmas and let's not forget all the yummy food.
There's a lot of things to look forward to in the upcoming weeks and if you're anything like me, getting dressed up for the holidays is all part of the fun.
Today I'm bringing you three looks using one palette. I will be using the same face and brow products for each makeup look I create, the only thing I'm going to be switching up are the eyes and lips.
The palette I chose to create these festive looks is one of my all time favorites, the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. In my opinion this palette has a nice range of shades, perfect for creating lots of looks, it smells amazing and the colors have great pigmentation, application and blend ability.
Now let's get into the makeup looks I created for your holiday occasion!
BH Cosmetics Ultimate Brow Palette • Available here
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel • Available here
I hope you found this post helpful and if you do recreate any of my looks please tag me @jessicamelgoza_ on Instagram, so I can check it out and show it some love! Until next time friends, take care.
The other day my husband and I went out to the park to enjoy the amazing weather we've been having here in Houston and we snapped some photos of this super casual fall outfit. What I like about this outfit is that it's very effortless, laid back and comfortable I also really like the earth toned color palette.
For my sweater I went with this taupe high neck cable knit sweater that I purchased at Marshalls last season, I like that it's really thick and does a good job at keeping me warm. This olive jacket I've had for way too long it's been through it but I love it for places like this, I purchased it from Ross years ago and have no plans of getting rid of it!
My bottoms I kept super basic with these dark denim jeggings from American Eagle and for my shoes I wore these brown riding boots that I've had for a couple of years now from Charlotte Russe. I paired them with long fuzzy socks for added warmth and I kept my accessories simple with this brown faux leather crossbody bag.
As always I hope you guys enjoyed reading today's style post. Until next time friends, take care!
We finally received our wedding photos and today I'm sharing some of my favorites! Photographs were taken by George Street Photography on our wedding day, September 23, 2017.
