I am deeply saddened and outraged by the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court that takes away our fundamental rights as women! I will not stand by this decision and I will use my platform and my voice to show my full support, to educate, and to share information regarding the importance of this topic!

With the overturn of Roe v. Wade, women no longer have the right to abortion which takes away the right to control our bodies and personal health care decisions. 

This decision is wrong and does not reflect what we know to be true, and that is that abortion is essential. It is essential in several different scenarios for example in matters where there are pregnancy complications that may be so severe that abortion is the only measure to preserve a woman's health or save her life, or when women experience rape, incest, intimate partner violence, contraceptive failure, barriers to contraceptive use and access, fetal anomalies, and more.

In places where abortion is illegal women resort to unsafe means to end unwanted pregnancies which can result in death. The ban on abortion takes away our access to safe abortion! Not only that but abortion restrictions and bans fall hardest on people who already face discriminatory obstacles to health care. Those being people of color, people with disabilities, people in the LGBTQI+ community, people in rural areas, young people, immigrants, and those having a tough time making ends meet.

This is why we MUST keep fighting for a future where abortion isn’t just legal, but also accessible, affordable, and supported in all of our communities, everywhere.
