Nowrain Clothing Try-On Haul

It's that time again - it's time for a try-on haul! Whoo-hoo!!

Today's post features items from a new brand I was introduced to through Instagram called Nowrain. They reached out and sent me some items to try so I thought why not share the experience with you.

In this post, I'm sharing details about each item like my first impression, sizing information, and whether I think each piece is a hit or miss.

In my latest YouTube video, I show you each item up close in detail, I share my first impressions on the fabric, fit, quality, and more so be sure to check out the video because I think it shows a better representation of each item since it is in video format.

Split Hem Knit Top - I'm wearing a size Medium and it fits true to size. The fabric of this knit top is soft and thick making it great for colder weather, and the fabric also has a stretch to it. The fit on this one is more fitted throughout except for the end of the sleeves where it has a bit of a flare to them. The hemline falls at a normal length so it's not a crop top (I've tucked the top into the pants in the photo), and it also has a split hemline. I really love the square-cut and sweetheart-like neckline on this top it's very unique, feminine, and flattering. This top is a hit!

Button-Front Cami Top - I'm wearing a size Medium and it fits true to size. The fabric of this cami top has a corduroy texture and it has no stretch to it. This top looks like a corset which I love, it has hooks closure on the front, and adjustable straps. It fit really well and it's so cute. This item is a hit!

Collared Knit Sweater Top - I'm wearing a size Large for an oversized fit. The rib-knit fabric of this sweater is soft, cozy, and lightweight. It has a classic look with the collar and v-neck detailing and the fit is relaxed and roomy. I think this is a timeless item to have in your closet since it can be worn several ways and makes for a great layering piece as well. This sweater is a hit!

Argyle Pattern Crop Top and Skirt Set - I'm wearing a size Medium and it fits Small. I would recommend going up a size. The fabric on this set is stretchy however when stretched out the color loses its opacity making the fabric look cheap. The argyle print pattern continues onto the back of the skirt but does not continue onto the back of the top. The fit of this set is body-hugging and given the issue with the stretch and opacity, I'd recommend sizing up. The overall concept of this set is really cute however not well executed, for this reason, this set is a miss!

Corset Bodysuit - I'm wearing a size Medium and it fits true to size. The fabric on this bodysuit is stretchy, opaque, and feels nice and comfortable. It has razorback detailing on the back and looks like a corset top in the front and the underwear bottom portion of the bodysuit is a thong. The fit of this one is really nice and it's a piece that can be worn all year round. This bodysuit is a hit!

V-Neck Lace Trim Crop Top - I'm wearing a size Medium and it fits true to size. The fabric on this crop top is stretchy, opaque, and feels nice. It has lace trim dealing on the neckline and a center split hem. The fit on this one is more fitted to the body but still comfortable. Overall a very cute top and I'd say this one is a hit!

Printed Tank Bodycon DressI'm wearing a size Medium and it fits Small. I would recommend going up a size. This dress had the same issue as the matching set from earlier in this post. The fabric was stretchy but when stretched the color lost its opacity and it felt cheap. The fit of this dress is body-hugging and it did fit tight and was too short so with this plus the stretch/opacity issue, I'd recommend going up in size. Overall this dress is cute however the fabric and sizing made it a miss!

Ruched Twist Front Dress - I'm wearing a size Medium and it fits Large. I would recommend going down a size. The fabric on this dress is stretchy, it has lots of fun texture to it, and it's quite comfortable. I found the fit to be a tad too big, it had lots of excess fabric on the sides and it was too long for me. For these reasons, I would recommend sizing down. Apart from the fit, the dress is beautiful I love the plunging neckline, the collar, and the ruched twist detail on the front of the dress. It's available in a few other colors too. I'm going to have to give this one a miss only because of the sizing but not because of the dress itself.

Cut-Out Back Sportsbra + Leggings Set - I'm wearing a size Large and it fits like a Medium. I was surprised and shocked when I took this set out of the packaging because it looked nothing like the set I ordered. My assumption is that there was a mix-up on the brands' end because I did find this set listed on their site even though it still wasn't the one I ordered. Anyway, aside from that, I really like the bottoms of this set, the fabric feels great and stretchy, they are squat-proof, they have a small pocket in the front on the waistband, and they have a seamless front and descent compression around the belly. The sports bra on the other hand felt like a swimsuit top, it didn't have much stretch to it so I struggled to put it on, it had a cut-out detail on the back with a metal clasp closure, and I personally didn't like the dealing on it. Since this is a set and I only liked one half and not the other, I'd say this set was a miss.

High Rise Side Pocket Leggings - I'm wearing a Large and it fits like a Medium. The fabric on these high-rise leggings is just like the previous pair, they're stretchy, feel great, and are squat proof. These have pockets on the sides big enough to fit an iPhone which I love. These have a front seam and a little less compression than the previous pair but are still so good. These leggings are a hit!

Overall I'm glad that a little more than half of these items were a hit and that I'll actually be able to wear them out.
