Hello friends! Halloween is in just a few weeks and I'm so freaking excited about it. So today I thought I'd compile a list of twenty different costume ideas for you babes to recreate or to take inspiration from.
You can't go wrong with the classic angel costume whether it's a light angel or a dark angel. However, there are more approaches to the angel costume like a Victoria's Secret angel or a golden angel as seen on Katy Perry for example.
The Bridgerton Netflix series has been a hit since its release and it had so many people talking about the show itself and the show's fashion. So it should come as no surprise that dressing up as a character from the series is a great idea for a Halloween costume.
With the end of Britney's conservatorship, I see no better way to celebrate the pop icon's newly found freedom than by dressing up in one of her iconic looks. There are seriously SO MANY looks of hers to choose from you can't really go wrong.
With western boots being a big shoe trend this season it's only right to use them as part of your cowgirl costume. There are so many ways to get fun and creative with this one, with just a quick search on Pinterest you can find so much inspo. I remember watching the Love Again music video by Dua Lipa when it was first released and thinking that her cowgirl outfit would make such a hot Halloween costume.
I knew after watching the Disney film Cruella back in the summer that her character would make for a great Halloween costume. Now thinking about it, any rendition of this Disney villain would be super cool to dress up as.
Who says cupid is only reserved for the month of love? Sprinkle a little romance this spooky season by dressing up as the ancient Roman god of love.
Here is another classic costume idea which just like the angel, can have so many different approaches. So long as you're wearing red, you can't really go wrong, so have fun and get creative!
Dorothy is an iconic old Hollywood character making this costume a classic. There are lots of ways to dress up as this character so long as you have these three elements: red shoes, a blue and white plaid dress, and a basket.
The fairy costume has increased in popularity over the last few years and understandably so, it's such a cute costume and you can really personalize it and make it your own so long as you have the key feature, fairy wings.
Ariana Grande is a costume idea on her own because she has so many cute looks from several of her music videos that could easily be made into amazing Halloween costumes. But here I've featured this look from her 34+35 music video in which she is serving major fembot energy.
Megan Fox has been on FIRE this year, she's such a hot topic right now and I mean obviously, she's Megan freaking Fox so it should come as no surprise that many of Jennifer Check's looks from the film Jennifer's Body are going to be popular Halloween costumes this year.
There are so many ways to approach this jester costume whether it be with super glam and pretty makeup, scary and bloody makeup, a mix of both, or by getting really creative and artistic with the makeup. As far as the costume goes so long as you're wearing black and white diamond printed something, and stick with the black, white, and red color scheme you'll be set.
Who doesn't love The Joker? Again, this is a costume that I've seen worn and styled in so many different ways so you can really tailor it to what you like and feel most comfortable in. You can wear a blazer and pant set or just an oversized blazer with a mini dress, pair it with heels, sneakers, or boots, it's really customizable. And with there being several versions of Joker you can really have fun with this costume idea.
I remember watching Tomb Raider movies as a teenager and thinking Lara Croft was the ultimate badass. So if you're trying to feel like a strong badass for Halloween perhaps this is the costume for you!
The Marvel franchise has loads of characters to choose so that's a general idea, however, I wanted to include a few strong female characters or Marvel baddies onto this list. So here you see Black Widow, Harley Quinn, Scarlet Witch, and Wonder Woman.
I added Medusa to this list because she's one of my favorite Greek Goddesses, however, feel free to use any goddess as a general idea for a costume. For Medusa in particular I think what really makes this costume is the snake headband so long as you have something similar it'll be pretty clear what you're dressed up as. Taking creative liberty with the makeup and costume can really take this to the next level.
A mummy costume is a fun DIY costume for Halloween. There's a lot of creative liberty in how you can design this one and you can really play with the makeup too.
Olivia Rodrigo is my favorite new artist this year and her album SOUR easily makes it onto my top 5 albums of 2021 so I, of course, had to have the image of her debut album cover as a costume idea! She also has super cool looks in her good 4 u music video (which was inspired by the movie Jennifer's Body) which you can also take inspo for ideas from.
What better way to rock the Y2K trend than to dress up as the SO HOT heiress herself, Paris Hilton! Her early 2000's looks are so iconic so this costume would be a lot of fun.
I'm ending this list with another classic Halloween costume, the witch. There are several approaches to this character as well. You can keep it minimal like Kendall did with just a black dress, witch's hat, sheer long gloves, and black shoes or you can take inspiration from the witches in the film The Wizard of Oz. The possibilities lie in creativity so this one could be so much fun.
I hope today's post helped you get some ideas or inspiration for a Halloween costume!
Thank you for taking some time to visit my blog, I appreciate you so much.
Until next time friends, take care!
xo, Your Girl Jess
