About a week ago, I was on LTK when I came across a post sharing that the Dyson V8 was on sale. I'd wanted a Dyson for the longest time and know they don't go on sale often so when I saw that, I jumped at the opportunity and started shopping around.

As I was browsing to see what stores sold the vacuum I realized that each retailer included the vacuum with different attachments. I compared what was all included from these retailers, Target, Dyson, QVC, and Bed Bath and Beyond. 

Ultimately, I purchased my Dyson V8 Animal from Bed Bath & Beyond because I liked the attachments included and if for whatever reason I did not love it, I could easily return it in-store as there is a location not far from my house.

Included in the box was the vacuum itself with the Direct Drive Cleaner Head, a docking station, charger, and for attachments the Combination Tool, Crevice Tool, Mini Motorized Tool, and the Soft Dusting Brush.

The vacuum takes about 5 hours to charge so as soon as I unboxed it, I put it to charge and impatiently tried it for the first time that same day.

Now that I've had the vacuum for a little over a week and have had time to use it as usual and for a deep cleaning day. I'd like to share my thoughts and a brief review.

One of my concerns when purchasing this vacuum was the run time with a full charge. It states it can run for up to 40 minutes on the high suction setting with a full charge, and about 7 minutes on the max suction setting with a full charge, which for me didn't sound like a very long time.

However, after using it to clean my entire house on a deep cleaning day, using the high suction setting, I can say that the battery did not lose its power or suction when the battery got low. I was happily impressed by that! I started at around 10AM and finished at around 1:30PM. By the end, the filter had collected so much dust, hair, and dirt. It was very satisfying to see it go from being completely empty to nearly full. (You can see it how dirty it got by watching my TikTok)

I usually only use the High Suction setting not only because it extends the life of the battery but because the suction on this setting works so well I don't find the need to use the other setting. I've come to notice that I only use Max Suction when High Suction won't pick up what's on the floor, for example, in my office it wouldn't pick up a small spec where the carpet met the baseboard (as seen on my TikTok) but on Max, it picked it up with no problem.

Another random thing I've noticed from using the Dyson in comparison to my old vacuum is that my dog is not bothered by this Dyson at all. For some reason or another, he would attack my old vacuum which drove me nuts when trying to clean my space. However, with this one, he does not seem to care. I'm going to say it's because the Dyson is much less intimidating thanks to its sleek design and much quieter too. 

One of my favorite things about this vacuum is how lightweight it is and how easily it can get underneath furniture like my living room sectional, tv stand, and more. Also how I can use different attachments to clean in the areas I normally couldn't reach like the small tight corners around my house.

All of the attachments are so handy and I like that I can use the vacuum as normal or as a handheld to clean things like my couch or car.

If there is one negative thing that I can point out about this Dyson it'd be that it does not stand on its own, although I did know that before purchasing it. So I typically lean it against the wall or against a corner to make sure it won't slip or fall.

Cleaning the filter is very easy, you simply pull a lever and it pops open dumping out all the gunk. I like to clean it out after each use so it's clean and ready to go the next time I use it.

The charging docking station is so great because it goes mounted on the wall so the vacuum doesn't take up any floor space, it has two spots for attachments to be stored, and it simultaniously charges the Dyson.

In having my own Dyson now for a few days, I can understand the hype around this brand and why they are deemed the best. I do think this purchase was worth the splurge of about $350 and I also think it was a good investment that I will hopefully have for several years.
