Halloween is right around the corner and these tasty treats are perfect for the occasion and wickedly easy to make.
As I was scrolling through Pinterest for inspo I came up with the idea to try and recreate Halloween treats I'd pinned. This idea actually works out great because on Halloween day we're having a small office party at work and I'd be nice to show up with spooktacular goodies.
First thing on my list to recreate are these super cute bat bites from Chelsea's Messy Apron. They are made up of only four ingredients making it really simple for anyone to create.
INGREDIENTS
• Miniature Reese's Cups
• Thin Oreo Cookies
• Pre-made cream cheese frosting
• Edible eyes
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Scrape off the frosting from the Oreos
2. Break each of the Oreo's in half
3. Remove the wrappers from the Reese's cups
4. Fill up a sandwich bag with the frosting and cut off the tip of the bag
5. Pipe frosting onto the back corners of the Oreo halves
6. Press the Oreo halves on opposite sides of the Reese's cup
7. Pipe frosting on the back of the edible eyes and press them on top of the Oreo and enjoy
These sweet and salty ghost pretzels from Dessert Now Dinner Later are the perfect crunchy treat. You can coat them with any kind of chocolate you'd like, I also coated some with dark chocolate, my favorite, turning them from ghosts to screaming pretzels.
INGREDIENTS
• Pretzels
• White chocolate
• Dark chocolate (optional)
• Edible eyes
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place chocolate in a bowl and melt in microwave for 15-20 seconds at a time
2. Place a single pretzel in the bowl and coat it with the chocolate
3. Lay coated pretzel on a cookie sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper and repeat for all pretzels
4. Press the edible eyes on top of pretzels
5. Place cookie sheet with your pretzels in the fridge and allow the chocolate to harden then enjoy
Not all treats have to include chocolate, this healthy option idea from Katrina's Paperie is a great alternative from the standard. These kabobs are sweet, quick and completely customizable, add whatever fruit is your favorite.
INGREDIENTS
• Kabob skewers
• Marshmallows
• Strawberries
• Grapes
• Black food coloring pen
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wash fruit, cut strawberries then set the fruit aside
2. Draw ghostly faces on the marshmallows with the food coloring pen then let dry
3. Begin adding the fruit and marshmallows onto the skewer in the pattern you'd like and you're done
Bone Appétit!
I hope you enjoyed these easy recipes and my Halloween puns. Until next time friends, take care.
