It's been a hot minute since I've done an Instagram round-up post here on the blog so I think it's about time! If you're unfamiliar with my Instagram round-ups I basically put all the outfits I've shared over on my Instagram over the past week(s) and put it all into one blog post.
All of the outfits featured in today's blog post are in collaboration with one of my favorite affordable clothing brands, SHEIN. If you see something you like that you want to add to shopping your cart, don't forget to use my discount code Q3YGJESS at checkout to get 15% OFF your order!
Ruffle Cut 2-in-1 Blouse Dress - I'm wearing this dress in a size Medium. When I saw this dress on the SHEIN website I thought it was stunning, and it absolutely is. However, there are a few things in my opinion that could have made this dress a whole lot better. For example, adding more buttons towards the bottom of the white blouse for more coverage and adding adjustable hooks on the corset for a more cinched in look. A couple of things I really liked about this dress were the sleeves because they flared out around the wrist and the overall style of the dress is another thing I really liked.
Faux Leather Strappy Square Toe Block Heels - I'm wearing these heels in a size 8.5 and they fit true to size. I can already see myself wearing these heels a lot come spring and summer. I think these shoes are very sexy with all the straps and tie-up detail. The block heel on these makes them very stable and easy to walk in, I also love the square toe detail, it's on-trend and very chic.
Cardigan Top + Drawstring Short Set - I'm wearing this set in a size Medium and it fits true to size. I have been living in loungewear these days and this set was the perfect addition to my never-ending collection. The fabric is high-quality, super soft, and comfy, perfect for lounging out around the house. The shorts have pockets, an elastic waistband, drawstring, and they fall at a good length. The cardigan top has a loose fit, two pockets, and three front-button closures. What I appreciate about matching sets is that you can mix and match them with existing items in your closet. This cardigan top is definitely something I can see myself pairing with other pieces to create an outfit to go out in.
Chunky Chain Necklace Set - If you know me, then you know I'm a sucker for gold jewelry. This set is super affordable at ONLY $5! The necklaces can be worn individually or together, they have a nice weight to them, and their lengths are adjustable.
Cable Knit Sweater Vest Dress - I'm wearing this vest in a size Medium and it fits true to size. Sweater vests were a big trend in 2020 and in my opinion, they're still hot in 2021. This sweater dress is so soft and comfortable, and it falls at a good length. It's important for me to mention that this dress has two minor side slits and that it does not come with this white blouse.
Minimalist Lace-Up Front Combat Boots - I'm wearing these boots in a size EUR40 and they fit true to size. I think it's safe to say that I'm obsessed with chunky combat boots, these are no exception. To my surprise, this pair of boots are very lightweight, they have an inner fleece lining, a chunky platform which I love, and a side zipper closure.
Cable Knit Cropped Cardigan + Bandeau Set - I'm wearing this set in a size Medium and it fits true to size. It's no secret that I have a minor addiction to sets but I couldn't resist this one; it's so cute! This top is available in over 10 colors ranging from neutrals to pastels. I'm wearing the color apricot. The fabric is very soft and this top can be worn several ways as a pair of as separates.
High-Waisted Straight Leg Jeans - I'm wearing these in a size Medium and they fit true to size. I love this pair of blue denim jeans because they're incredibly high-waisted and have absolutely no distressing. The fabric has that true denim thickness and it does not have a stretch to it. The fit of these jeans is SO GOOD around the waist, bum, and legs. My only issue with these is that they're way too long for my 5'3" stature, but a quick trip to the tailor can fix that.
Zip Back Leopard Print Tank Top - I'm wearing this top in a size Medium and it fits true to size. I love the corset style of this top, it's so flattering and cute. This top is available in 4 other colors/prints but I of course went with the neutral option and I adore it. The fabric of this top does have a minor stretch to it and there's a zipper closure in the back of this top.
High Wasit Slant Pocket Jeans - I'm wearing these jeans in a size Medium and they fit true to size. I've been on the hunt for a pair of plain black straight-legged jeans and these fit that description perfectly. The fit of these is super relaxed and slightly baggy. They are a little big around the waist but a belt can fix that issue - no problem.
Solid Ribbed Knit Turtleneck Sweater Top - I'm wearing this top in a size Medium and it fits true to size. I think this piece is a great layering piece to have in your wardrobe. I like that I can wear this alone (like I did here) or layered underneath other pieces (like a crewneck sweater for example). I went with the color beige, but this one is available in black as well. The fabric is very soft and incredibly stretchy, it also has a cute little detail under the boob area.
Fold Pleated Front Knotted Hem Pants - I'm wearing these pants in a size Medium and they fit true to size. These were another item that I saw on the website and thought they were super cute until I tried them on and changed my mind. The biggest turn-off for me was the crotch area (as seen in my Instagram story try-on). There was too much fabric in that area making it look too baggy and balloon-ish. The pants were also too long on me so when they'd cinch at the ankles I'd have a lot of excess fabric adding to that balloon-ish-ness. Now, a few positives were how well they fit around the waist, how breathable and lightweight the fabric is, and the style and color.
Faux Leather Strappy Open-Toe Block Heels - I'm wearing these in a size EUR40 and they fit true to size. Oh, how I wanted to love these heels, but the ankle strap mechanism made it very difficult to do so. Again, I showed this on my Instagram story try-on, make sure you're following me on Instagram to keep up with my try-on hauls. But I couldn't understand how to hook these shoes in a way that didn't look odd or ill-fitting around the ankles. In other words, I don't see these being wearable. They are a very cute pair of heels, I love the block heel, square toe, and strappy detailing, it's a shame the strap mechanism was no good, in my opinion.
Lapel Collar Flap Detail Teddy Coat - I'm wearing this coat in a size Large for an oversized fit. Teddy coats have been a favorite of mine since last season because they're very soft and cozy, and this one is no exception. I sized up and got a Large because I wanted the option to wear this with chunky pieces underneath. I love the length and look of this coat, the only downside is that it does not have any pockets. Apart from that very minor issue, I like it a lot and see myself keeping this piece in my wardrobe for many seasons to come. The coat itself is not too thick or thin, and in my opinion, it's warm enough for the Houston winter.
Dobby Mesh Frill Trim Shirred Top - I'm wearing this top in a size Medium and it fits true to size. One of my weaknesses has to be statement sleeves. I was all about statement sleeves last year, and continue to be all about them because, well, just look at them! This top has the dreamiest mesh sleeves, that are cinched throughout the arm, and the color is absolutely beautiful. The fabric of the bodice is not itchy, it has a good stretch and it's nice and opaque so no need to wear a bra if you're not about wearing bras (like me).
Chunky Hoop Earrings - As I mentioned earlier I'm a sucker for gold jewelry and another major thing I can't get enough of are hoop earrings! These are nice and chunky, they also have beautiful detailing on them, and best of all they're SUPER affordable at UNDER $3!
That wraps my Instagram round-up. I would love to know which one of these outfits was your favorite, sound off in the comments section below!
