Hello loves, in today's post I thought I'd share with you my latest discovery and obsession. I went into Sephora a few months ago looking for a new foundation and decided to get a sample of the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation and let me tell you, it was like love at first application. I liked this foundation so much I went out and bought it as soon as I used up my sample.
This product retails for $32.00, it's sold at Sephora and I believe they have about 18 shades, I'm in the shade Medium 53.
On the packaging it claims to have and be full coverage, wearable for 24 hours, transfer resistant, matte finish, fragrance free, oil-free and for all skin types.
My thoughts on each claim ↓
FULL COVERAGE
This bad boy gives freaking insane coverage! That's definitely the first thing I look for in a foundation because I have a lot of acne marks and this foundation for sure gets a 10 out of 10 when it comes to coverage.24-HOUR WEAR
Can't really say much on the 24 hour wear because I haven't tried wearing it for a full 24 hours and I doubt I ever will, I can't even stay up for a full 24 hours to be honest - I love my sleep. But in terms of longevity it does stay on my skin for the entire time period I have it on, which would typically be over 12 hours.
TRANSFER RESISTANT
This is not transfer resistant, it rubbed off on my boyfriends T-shirt when I gave him a hug (>_<)MATTE FINISH
It does not stay as a matte finish on me personally, I get more of a natural finish from this foundation. Maybe because I don't prime but I do however moisturize my skin before applying foundation. After I've applied my foundation I set it with powder but it still doesn't stop my t-zone from getting oily so I have to continue powdering throughout the day. I really wish it was a true matte finish.
FRAGRANCE & OIL FREE
I don't get any sort of scent from the foundation so I agree with it being fragrance free. There are no ingredients in this product that contain oil so I also agree that it's oil-free.
FOR ALL SKIN TYPES
I can't say much when it comes to the foundation stating it's for all skin types because I've only used this foundation on myself and I have oily skin. It stays put on me aside from the fact that it doesn't stay matte all day.APPLICATION
Let me get into the application of this foundation for a second because the first time I tried applying it I used a damp beauty sponge and noticed that it wasn't really working out, on top of that I felt like I was wasting too much product. I found it to be a little tricky due to the fact that it sets really fast and you only have a short amount of time to work with it. So what I found really works for me and uses less product is using M•A•C Fix + and a stippling brush. What I do is:
FINAL LOOK
If so let me know in the comments below!
